THE QUARTER A 2.5-hour walk through old Kristiansand
A relaxed promenade through the soul of Kristiansand — designed for cruise guests who want depth, not distance.
Your guide meets you at Pier 10, Kristiansand’s cruise quay, before leading you into the historic city centre, Kvadraturen. From there, we continue through Markens gate and Torvet to Kristiansand Cathedral, before stepping into Posebyen — one of Northern Europe’s most remarkable preserved wooden-house districts.
Along the way, you will hear stories of city life, local character, and the great fire of 1892 — and why Posebyen survived when much of the city did not. The walk ends with a gentle seaside route past Bystranda and Fiskebrygga before returning to the cruise terminal.

A 2.5-hour guided walk through old Kristiansand

Meet your Guide:
Our guides are carefully selected for their warmth, local knowledge, and ability to make Kristiansand feel personal.
Whether born and raised on the southern coast or deeply rooted in the region, they know the stories, details, and quiet corners that are easy to miss on your own. This is not a rushed sightseeing walk, but a relaxed and thoughtful introduction to the city — paced with care, shaped by local insight, and designed to make you feel welcome from the moment you step off the ship.
Where possible, we include small personal touches and local encounters that give the walk a more intimate feel — the kind of details that turn a short visit into a lasting memory.
“We would rather host a small group well than a large group briefly. Everything we plan is paced for the best experience.”
What guests say
